Race Dayyyy

Hey loves! So in my last post I talked about my time in Queenstown, NZ and all the cool things there are to do there. But I wanted to talk a little more on my number one reason for heading there... Just the Queenstown International Marathon, nbd!! If I would have told myself a couple years ago that I would be participating in this race, I probably would have laughed! But the universe has a funny way of giving you exactly what you need even if you can't quite see it yet! I have definitely found that out!

I ran my first half marathon a month before this one and I'm not going to lie, it was tough. I was still healing from a hand injury and the late summer humidity was pounding hard all around me. You could say I was a little anxious about doing that alllll again. Let alone in another country, on the other side of the world, in a completely opposite time zone. What was I thinking??

But then, how could I not?? What a perfect way to see exactly what I was made of!

I was nervous, but oh my gosh, this race was so much better. Still tough with steep mountain inclines yet I've never felt so inspired by the energy and excitement and beauty all around me.

Race day for me felt like the start of something really great. I started training for it a year ago this January. And it all culminated to moments I'll never forget.

If one year could take me this far, what will next year bring? I really can't wait to find out.

xo,

Christy
